About the role Our Defendant Personal Injury and Products team has a reputation for delivering sound timely advice and particular expertise in large-scale litigation, multi-party actions and group actions. Its clients include government, large self-insured corporates and international organisations (non-governmental and commercial). The team has a costs offering for the Dispute Resolution section of the firm to include civil, commercial and Arbitral claims. We provide costs services including the preparation of costs schedules, budgets (Precedents H and R) and costs budgets for group litigation costs management to the preparation of Bills of Costs, Points of Disputes, and Replies. We appear before the SCCO, in local courts and in Arbitral matters. The Paralegal/Draftsperson will be working on various tasks for the team. Key responsibilities will include; Having a Case Load of up to 50 costs files predominantly in the sphere of Industrial Disease and EL/PL Personal Injury Deal with individual costs instructions from the wider CMS Teams for civil, commercial and Arbitral claims Drafting Bills of Costs, Points of Dispute and Replies Drafting Precedent H Costs Budgets and assisting with preparation of Precedent R Reports Drafting Schedules of Costs Analyse and negotiate costs settlements About you You will have previous costs paralegal/draftsperson experience (minimum 6 months working in costs) with excellent organisational skills and exceptional communication skills; who can interact with Partners and Fee earners. You will also have: Client care skills (telephone, email and face to face) Excellent time management skills/ability to prioritise conflicting deadlines Experience of managing own matters Ability to work well in a team Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel About us CMS is an international law firm with market leading businesses throughout Europe, The Middle East, Asia and beyond.
