A successful and widely recognised company in the Infrastructure and Support Services business, operating in the biomass energy, railway maintenance and aviation sectors as well as having investments in a property and logistics portfolio are looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician / Engineer at their site in Tilbury.

The Role:
  • To maintain a static wood processing production line in a safe and efficient manner
  • To also maintain all accompanying machinery/equipment on both processing and storage site
  • To plan and organise maintenance and inspection programmes using an IT based system
  • To plan and organise 3rd party repairs and maintenance and issue permits to work
  • Using the IT based maintenance software, raise job cards and Purchase orders
  • To exercise caution at all times and report any accidents, incidents or near misses to site management immediately
  • To co-operate with site and national management to maximise processing throughput capabilities
  • To work as a fully engaged member of a small operating team and to be able to liaise directly with the equipment suppliers and the customer to plan maintenance and servicing
  • To be flexible in your approach and be willing to work hours that maybe subject to change at short notice
  • To be available on a call out basis as required
  • To manage and maintain a spare parts store at the facility 
What will I be responsible for?
  • Maintain and carry out repairs to all site-based equipment
  • Arrange, plan and oversee all servicing and inspection programmes for site equipment using an IT based system
  • Arrange, plan and oversee any third-party contractors and operate a permit to work system
  • Using the IT based servicing and maintenance system, raise job cards and Purchase orders
  • Using the IT based servicing and maintenance system, control a stock of spares and replenish as required
  • Use all supplied PPE at all times.
  • Report any accidents, incidents or near misses immediately to site management
  • Report any machinery defects immediately to site management
  • Ensure Machinery is maintained as per the manufacturers recommendations
  • Always be aware of the sites Environmental responsibilities (Training will be provided)
  • Abide by all company procedures, policies and protocols
  • Attend training courses as required
  • Always conduct yourself in a courteous and professional manner
The Candidate:

Core qualifications:
  • Fully qualified mechanical and electrical engineer.
  • Good IT Literacy skills including Microsoft, word, excel, outlook and IT based servicing and maintenance systems.
  • Written and oral English and Mathematics to GCSE standard
  • Full clean Driving Licence
Desired Qualifications:
  • IOSH “Managing Safety”
  • Completion of a Technical engineering apprenticeship
Core experience:
  • At least 3 years’ experience ideally gained within the waste or recycling sector
  • Experience maintaining a wide variety of Plant and machinery
  • Experience of IT based servicing and maintenance systems 
Desired experience:
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the transport & waste management sectors.
  • Experience in the biomass sector
The Package:

On offer is an annual salary of £40,000 based on 55 hours per week, Monday-Saturday
