JOB TITLE: Estates Health & Safety Officer / School Facilities Manager
SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive salary based on school's salary scale plus an on-call allowance, provides free on-site parking and subsidised lunchtime meals.

THE COMPANY: Our client is a co-educational independent school based in Peterborough,
Cambridgeshire founded in 1895 and situated in 11 acres of beautiful grounds close to the City
Centre and now seek an organised and experienced individual to be responsible for the routine operational management of the School's buildings, grounds, facilities and transport.

THE ROLE: The Estates Health & Safety Officer / School Facilities Manager is a key position in the School's support staff. Reporting to the Bursar, the successful candidate will work with initiative and a very high level of autonomy and will be comfortable with all aspects of leading a team. This will be a varied role where duties will include coordinating a team to cover repairs, site improvements throughout the school, liaise with contractors and oversee plan and record all Maintenance activities. You will be expected to think operationally but within a strategic context, as well as to liaise confidently and diplomatically with a wide range of stakeholders and staff.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Estates Health & Safety Officer / School Facilities Manager's position must have suitable relevant experience in a similar role and must have experience managing and leading a team of staff as well as being someone who can think methodically, plan accordingly and solve challenges where within your resources. It is essential applicants hold a IOSH accredited Health and Safety qualification and can commit to the shared on call commitments (on call allowance provided). Candidates must live local and within easy commutable distance to Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and must have a valid UK Driving Licence.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Estates Health & Safety Officer / School Facilities Manager's role :-

- Must hold an IOSH accredited Health and Safety qualification
- Experience managing a team essential
- Natural Problem solving and good planning skills
- Must be within local commutable distance to Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and must have a valid UK Driving Licence
