Salary £18,115.50 based on 37.5 hours per week (plus £50 sleep in)

Our client is a family run not-for-profit organisation providing residential and supported accommodation services for vulnerable adults, families, and young people.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within their Childcare services for a number of Residential Childcare Workers to work within their newly refurbished 4-bed, Tier 3/Tier 4 Children’s home. The home provides therapeutic care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will provide the highest possible standards of direct day-to-day therapeutic residential childcare to vulnerable children and young people working in an effective and cooperative manner within a team environment.

You will have an in-depth understanding and knowledge of child development and the ability to work effectively with the challenging needs and behaviours of children and young people within a residential childcare setting.

An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with young people in crisis is important and you will have the determination to support them to re-engage with education and/or community living.

It is essential that candidates have an NVQ/Diploma to Level 3 (OR Level 2 with previous experience) in Children and Young People or an equivalent qualification.

A full UK driving licence is also essential and candidates must have the ability to work 24-hour shifts (inclusive of sleep-ins) including weekends and bank holidays.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Disclosure will be required for this post.
