Job Title - Residential Children`s Worker
Location - Swansea
Hours - 37 hours
Salary -£17,550 - £20,254
Job Role

In this role you will be working in a team of Residential Child Care Officers and Team Leaders, led by the Manager, providing 24 hour care and support for young people.

You will be working in brand new services for young people with social emotional and behavioural difficulties.
This is an expanding company with experienced managers and dynamic - person based environment.
As a Residential Child Care Officer you will be a key member of the team, providing high standards of child-centred support and care to children and young people with emotional behavioural disorder. You will be expected to participate in activities which is important to this role, so commitment, energy and initiative is vital.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

- Creating and maintaining a warm and stable environment, conducive to good child care practice under the direction of the Team Leaders, Manager and Responsible Individual;
- Taking responsibility for the emotional, social and physical well being of children and young people, in line with policies;
- Ensuring that all your work is child-centred and by supporting children and young people in a manner that encourages personal development and respect for others;
- Ensuring the respect, dignity and right to privacy of children and young people as far as possible;
- Maintaining a high standard of supervision of all children and young people in compliance with policies, present legislation and good practice;
- Ensuring that children and young people in your care are safe and protected from harm;
- Supporting children in pursuing activities and leisure opportunities;
- Supporting children in managing their behaviours and implementing established de-escalation strategies to diffuse situations, as identified as part of the young person`s care plan. This may, at times, require you to engage in physical intervention, but only as a means of protecting the young person and others from harm (and only after you have received appropriate training);
