NIAB is a leading UK centre for plant science, crop evaluation and agronomy, delivering work from its regional network and headquarters in Cambridge. Our field crop research and impartial information is used widely by the agricultural community.

We are seeking a conscientious and enthusiastic person who enjoys a range of working activities to join our trials services team at our Headquarters in Cambridge.

You will be using modern equipment and Trimble RTK GPS to carry out a range of tasks such as cultivations, drilling, irrigation, spraying, and fertilizer spreading on commercial cropping and trial plots. You will also be required to drive plot combines through harvest and be expected to help other teams within the company in field recording, soil assessments and general duties, some of which can be physically demanding.

Applicants should enjoy carrying out a range of tasks, have a good standard of education and a full driving licence. PA 1, 2 and 6 spray certificates are an advantage although if not held you will be expected to undertake training to obtain these. Working paid overtime is expected.

Starting salary is £18,532 to £20,591, dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.
