Shift Engineer (Maintenance)

Our Client is a leader in the European textile service industry and delivers a complete textile rental and laundry service to all types of activities. Working across four business lines – Hospitality, Healthcare, Workwear and Facility, they work with thousands of organisations all over Europe.

They have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Engineer to join their Coventry site where you will provide effective engineering support in terms of planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and remedial works to site equipment and buildings. This is a permanent, full time position working on a 12 hour 4 on – 4 off shift pattern.

As a Shift Engineer, you will undertake planned maintenance tasks to the relevant engineering and safety standards and will carry out repairs to equipment in a safe and timely manner. Whilst undertaking remedial engineering works to equipment or site as instructed by the Engineering Manager, you will also ensure that any risks of safety or failure of equipment or site are communicated to the Manager.

The successful candidate will possess a recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. Mechanical or Electrical City & Guilds / NVQ to Level 3) coupled with experience in both Electrical and Mechanical trades. With excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, you will ideally have knowledge of other engineering disciplines, including pneumatics, hydraulics and steam systems, although this is not essential.

A self-motivated individual, you will have an analytical approach, a high attention to detail and will be able to make decisions.
