Sense have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our ‘Get Out There’ team to set up a new Social Group based in Manchester.

This is a part time role working 16 hours per week, offered initially on a fixed term contract for 12 months after which the position will be reviewed. There will be the opportunity to increase working hours as the service grows.

About the role 
As a Social Group Co-ordinator you will recruit and lead a team of support workers and volunteers to offer support to children and young people with complex needs, which may include sensory impairments, additional learning or physical disabilities, or autism. You will enable them to enjoy more independent lives through social opportunities at weekends, after school and during school holidays, in community settings such as youth clubs or activity venues.

About you 
The successful candidate will have experience working in a care setting and be keen to take on a team management role. You will be able to coordinate and plan a range of activities. Experience working with young people with complex communication and learning needs is desirable.

You will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to liaise with the families, friends and schools of our service users. Good computer skills are necessary for the administrative aspects of this role, including use of the full Microsoft Office Suite.

A full UK driving licence is desirable for this role.
