This is a complete new role for our client in Bolton within the underwriting team. This role has been created to strengthen the analytical side of the team and the primary focus will be on utilising insurance price comparison models to assist the delivery of strategic objectives.


This role represents an opportunity to be part of a successful and dynamic department which is critical to the support the Regional Brokers

Duties within the role will include:

The Market Research Analyst will provide detailed analysis using their expertise for market intelligence and trends within the Personal Lines market, bringing an additional analytical dimension to the Personal Lines Underwriting department that will:
Support the Chief Underwriting Officer and Personal Lines Underwriting Manager in delivering analysis that supports the company¡¦s Underwriting Strategy
Review and recommend data sources to overcome any analytical shortcomings
Maintain a strong understanding and compliance with legal, regulatory and industry requirements and changes
Source and control access to databases and other market intelligence
Utilise price comparison models to assist the delivery of strategic objectives
Undertake detailed market analysis of competitors, market trends and performance.

Skills you should be able to bring to the role:
You should be an Insurance professional, with proven experience of analytical expertise and knowledge.
Be effective at contributing to change and influencing outcomes
Be customer focused and demonstrate trusted, credible engagement at all levels
Have strong, professional and refined negotiation skills.
Have strong delivery, communication and influencing skills
Flexible and agile approach to change


Ideally a graduate with minimum 2:1 in mathematics, economics or similar
Experience and knowledge of working in a similar role is essential
Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work accurately and methodically
Experience in online research in terms of obtaining statistical data
