SAMS is one of the UK's leading marine research institutes. We have a global reputation for research and a growing reputation, as a partner in the University of the Highlands and Islands, for delivery of research-led undergraduate and post-graduate education. Our subsidiary commercial company provides marine survey, research and development consultancy services to the public and private sectors in the UK and overseas. SAMS has around 160 staff and is based in modern facilities in a scenic location on the Scottish west coast, less than 100 miles from Glasgow.
We wish to recruit a strongly team-oriented Head of Human Resources who will lead the activities of a small but experienced HR team to enable the wider strategic development and direction of this ambitious and dynamic organisation.
The post is open-ended and we are looking for a pro-active, CIPD-qualified individual with excellent communication and organisational skills to join our Executive team in delivering our new Institutional Reform & Development Plan. Creating a supportive working environment that celebrates, promotes and rewards excellent achievement across our portfolio of activities will be a key task. Successful candidates will bring an excellent track record of leading change and delivering highly successful HR / Staff Development services. You must demonstrate a strong commitment to working effectively as part of the senior management team.
