ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT - PURCHASING
(15 month Fixed Term Contract – 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday)

Our client is a group which operates within the pharmaceutical aseptic compounding, clinical homecare and laboratory services sectors.

The first subsidiary within the group produces over 3,000 aseptically compounded injectable pharmaceutical products each day for hospitals and patients across the UK who are fighting cancer, living with chronic disease or in need of pain relief. Through their scientific and technology capabilities, the team continuously develops new and innovative methods to improve their products and services.

The second subsidiary is a growing clinical homecare provider in an expanding market offering greater convenience to patients whilst delivering efficiencies to the NHS.

The third is a microbiological services business currently in its developmental stage. Its aim is to bring to market innovative microbiological testing and monitoring services, methodologies and technologies in the pharmaceutical manufacturing and clinical/diagnostics sectors.

The group now includes over 200 people with a leading edge turnover greater than £190 million.

They’ve recently invested in a new, multi-million pound manufacturing facility in Corsham, Wiltshire – offering an unrivalled opportunity in a successful and expanding company with a great team spirit. They are currently recruiting an Administration Assistant - Purchasing who can ensure that they continue to deliver an exceptional service.

Within this role you will be assisting with the following;

  • Raise purchase orders with suppliers in line with company processes and requirements
  • Follow up on orders to ensure that materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates
  • Dealing with internal and external stakeholders daily requirements
  • Develop & maintain supplier relationships
  • Set up & maintain new items on internal system
  • Ensure internal systems are continuously updated with correct pricing information
  • Deal with internal staff on quality issues, and liaise with suppliers to resolve
  • Attending monthly stock takes outside of normal working hours

The ideal candidate must be conscientious and show good attention to detail. An excellent professional telephone manner is essential and interpersonal skills are necessary to interface with customers, suppliers and staff. They are looking for well-motivated, enthusiastic individual to contribute to their continuing growth. The applicants will be required to prioritise their work accordingly and to deal with issues as and when they arise in a friendly but professional manner.
