Repairs Supervisor / Maintenance Supervisor (Housing)
Basingstoke
£31,000 depending on skills

Our client is Hampshire’s largest provider of affordable homes with around 1,000 staff. Providing quality affordable homes is only part of what they do! As a ‘people’ business, they work hard to create a high profile, fun, friendly working environment, recruiting high level expertise and investing in staff development, whilst looking after wellbeing.

They’re recruiting for a Repairs Supervisor based in Basingstoke (covering work across North Hampshire) on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.

As a Repairs Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for supervising and supporting the Trades staff to achieve the delivery of a first-class repairs service, ensuring that repairs are being carried out to the required standard within set timescales and budget. You'll carry out work in progress inspections to ensure work is being carried out safely, timely and accurately, making sure that staff and external contractors are conducting themselves appropriately and professionally.  You'll also assist with preparing detailed specifications upon receipt of residents' request for rechargeable work, and take the lead in carrying out complaint investigations, making sure necessary action is taken to resolve matters quickly.

You'll have responsibility of the line management of a team of Trades staff which will involve carrying out regular 1-2-1's and performance reviews, managing absence and performance issues, recruiting new staff members and ensuring your team remain fully skilled, flexible and high performing.

You'll have good working knowledge of various trades, ideally at a supervisory level with maintenance surveying experience.  Experience of managing a team would be highly advantageous for you to hit the ground running. You must have a full current driving licence to allow you to drive a company vehicle.  This role will be subject to a satisfactory online DVLA driving licence check.
