About the role:
Support Workers are required to provide a one to one flexible support service on a casual basis to support an existing care team. Our client is an adult male, wheelchair user, who has physical and cognitive support needs, following an acquired brain injury.
Rate of pay will be dependent on shift:
Hours: Shifts will vary and will be offered on an as and when required basis and will include day and sleep-in night shifts. Flexibility will be required to ensure our client's care needs are met.
Weekday: Monday to Friday Day Shifts - GBP14 per hour
Weekend: Saturday and Sunday Day Shifts - GBP15 per hour
Weekday: Monday to Friday Night Shifts GBP120 per shift
Weekend: Saturday and Sunday Night Shifts GBP150 per shift
Bank Holidays: Day or Night GBP15 per hour, Christmas Day: GBP25 per hour
You must have previous experience of working in a care environment with experience of following care / support plans.
Our client likes to spend time with his daughter and has several leisure interests including attending the gym and the theatre. We are therefore ideally seeking candidates who can support him in accessing and participating in these activities.
Candidates must have the ability to demonstrate a person centred approach to their work and must be able to undertake training courses as required. It is essential that you have the following skills:
-Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a professional manner
-Ability to work in confidential manner, being honest and conscientious whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
-Reliable and punctual
-Ability to act pro-actively and make informed decisions
-Ability to work as a lone worker
-Have good organisational skills.
-Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
-Excellent team player
You must also hold a full driving licence.
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service will be required.
