I have a fantastic opportunity with NHS England for an Assurance Project Manager based in Leeds. This role is a temporary assignment for initially 12 months with view to being extended thereafter.

The national NHS Continuing Healthcare team is a multidisciplinary team in NHS England's Nursing Directorate and is responsible for developing and implementing major improvement and assurance projects.

You will form part of a dynamic team, managing key national projects against the background of the team's significantly raised profile, internally and externally, with major stakeholder groups, parliament and the media.

This is a challenging role and there is a real opportunity for the you to influence how national policy translates into making improvements to local services and patient and family experience.

In particular, you will:

  • manage key national projects including scoping, design, planning, management and implementation;
  • support and develop the national assurance infrastructure for this area of policy, including:
    • development of governance structures and proactively managing risks and issues with senior colleagues.
    • reviewing and developing assurance mechanisms including working with software providers
  • design and manage complex assurance and performance reporting with analytics colleagues;
  • interpret and communicate complex performance and assurance information through regular reporting to senior colleagues and national groups and boards;
  • work closely with a range of professionals and negotiate solutions to complex assurance and performance challenges;
  • build relationships internally and externally, at a national and local level, including clinicians, senior managers, informatics, finance colleagues, other programmes and external software providers. Delivery will depend on an ability to collaborate and gain buy-in from colleagues across the country.

Skills and Capabilities

Experience of and able to:

  • deliver change through high quality project or programme management - including scoping, design, planning, management and implementation;
  • demonstrate ongoing professional development and qualifications (A-C English and Maths at GCSE and a degree level or equivalent qualification and Prince or MSP or equivalent)
  • develop governance structures and proactively manage risks and issues with senior colleagues.
  • review and develop assurance/performance options and mechanisms
  • design and manage complex assurance and performance reporting
  • interpret and communicate complex performance and assurance information through regular reporting to senior colleagues and groups
  • work closely with a range of professionals and negotiate solutions to complex assurance and performance challenges.
  • build relationships internally and externally, at different organisational levels and with a range of specialists e. clinicians, senior managers, informatics, finance colleagues, other programmes and external software providers.
  • collaborate and gain buy-in from colleagues locally and in remote locations.
  • negotiate solutions to complex challenges.
