Indirect Tax Manager
London
Up to £450 per day
I am currently sourcing an Indirect Tax Manager to join an internationally leading Insurance company and support their Global Indirect Tax team. They will be responsible for advising the business on indirect tax issues across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
Tax, Indirect, VAT, IPT, Advisory, Manager, EMEA, Compliance & Reporting
Key responsibilities will include:
* Advising a range of stakeholders, including finance, underwriters and front office staff on indirect tax issues
* Staying informed and analysing the impact that changes in tax legalisations may have on the business
* Working with the Indirect Tax Director in developing strategies for VAT and IPT mitigation
* Assisting in the management of indirect tax audits across the UK, Europe and Middle East
* Negotiating with external advisors to obtain indirect tax advice
* Ad hoc support and review for indirect tax compliance teams
Essential Knowledge and experience:
* 5 years+ experience in a UK or European Big 4 financial services VAT practice
* Strong experience negotiating with tax authorities and advising on indirect tax issues
* Qualified accountant /tax advisor/lawyer
* High level understanding and experience of the principal EU VAT Directive and ECJ case law
* Comfortably advising financial services companies on indirect tax matters
* IPT knowledge preferred
* Great communication skills and the ability to collaborate with professionals from varying backgrounds and cultures
* Driven and resilient
* High level excels skills
