Accounts Technician based in Twyford, Hampshire (SO21) offering a salary of £27,000 to £30,000 depending on skills and experience.

 

Purpose and Role 
 
The Accounts Technician supports the Finance Manager in the smooth running of the Finance department and all other associated departments which fall under the Finance Managers remit. 

The role includes within it, day to day support of Accounts, HR, IT and Administration activities. It will also involve assisting with month end management accounts, budgets, statutory accounts and audit processes. The Accounts Technician will assist the Finance Manager in developing and improving the finance and admin function as a whole. 

 
Key Aims & Objectives 

  • To assist the Finance Manager in managing the various departments for which they are responsible.
  • To advise the Finance Manager on choices sustaining the strategy for the development of the company.
  • Responsible for the administrative side of HR documentation
  • Comply with quality policies required to be applied through administrative works 

 
Prime Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Support on management accounts, statutory accounts, budgets and forecasting
  • Provide and interpret financial information using the company’s software/system
  • Monitor and interpret cash flows, and predict future trends
  • Analyse change and advise accordingly
  • Research and report on factors influencing business performance
  • Carry out credit checks as required on potential stakeholders
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the Inland Revenue 

   
The role of Accounts Technician

  • Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
  • Keep abreast of changes in employment law and legislation
  • Ensure all employee related documents are in order and comply with GDPR
  • Reconciliations of employee absence records for payroll purposes
  • Assist with the processing of payroll
  • Achieve financial objectives for the board of directors, with the support of the managers, by anticipating requirements, submitting information for budget preparation, scheduling expenditures, monitoring costs and analysing variances.

Qualifications 

  • AAT Qualified Accountant or CIMA Cert BA
