We are looking for an experienced project manager to support the core Open Targets platform project involved in large-scale biological data analysis and integration for target identification and prioritisation ().

Responsibilities will involve day to day project management of the process that generates the Open Targets platform as well as other Open Targets products, setting priorities in line with agreed strategy, maintaining the project roadmaps and ensuring deliverables are met on time. The postholder will interact with both the Open Targets teams and connected teams at EBI to ensure delivery, establish release schedules and ensuring stability and reproducibility of production systems. The post represents an excellent opportunity to be involved in the development of the core data integration within Open Targets in the evolving field of drug target identification and prioritisation.

The position is based in dedicated Open Targets space within EMBL-EBI and reports to the Open Targets Science Director.

At EMBL-EBI, we help scientists realise the potential of 'big data' in biology by enabling them to exploit complex information to make discoveries that benefit mankind. Working for EMBL-EBI gives you an opportunity to apply your skills and energy for the greater good. As part of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), we are a non-profit, intergovernmental organisation funded by 23 member states and two associate member states and proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. Qualifications and Experience

Prior successful project delivery in bioinformatics, or a related area is required. Familiarity with database technologies and/or genome-wide biological data analysis would be beneficial.

A proven track record of delivering large-scale biological data analysis or software engineering projects and understanding of the challenges posed by such collaborative projects, including flexibility, tight deadlines and working with multiple stakeholders across Open Targets. Applicants should have the ability to work in a highly-collaborative Agile team, interfacing with database and web developers and UX designers.

Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential and the ability to communicate with connected EBI service teams and with partners and stakeholders in the Open Targets consortium are required along with the ability to deliver a quality product within fixed deadlines.
