Role Overview:
Morrison Construction, part of the Galliford Try group of companies have been awarded significant new work in and around the Inverness/ Morayshire area. We are now seeking to employ a Site Engineer (permanent role) with preferred experience in the construction of Wind farms and major Highway construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality - Create and maintain a culture whereby everyone is continually seeking to satisfy their customers' requirements. Engineers will actively participate in this initiative and will provide support and monitoring.
  • Day to day responsibility for delivery of section(s) of projects from contract award to issue of defects certificate
  • To maintain and maximise quality of service and profitability
  • Establish, Maintain and enforce compliance with the current safety legislation and the Company's Health Safety and Environmental Policies.
  • To build long term relationships with clients, joint venture partners, contractors and other key stakeholders
  • Undertake role of the Site Safety Supervisor. Appraise the risk to all company property under your control and install security levels commensurate to the relative values.
  • Ensure the site fulfils all obligations for external compliance audits
  • Ensure Permit to Work systems, Inductions and Briefings are correctly carried out
  • Plan and co-ordinate the section(s) of project as allocated.
  • Ensure the correct administering of the Contractual Processes
  • Ensure all design and approvals processes are controlled and fulfilled
  • Oversee the day to day construction processes and ensure co-ordination within the site team, client and contractors
  • Attend meetings with and maintain necessary regular contact with clients and stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinate and control initial set up including installing Company systems and procedures.
  • Administer the cost reporting systems (delivery notes, Plant hire and collections, waste) to maximise cash flow and profitability.
  • Implement strict financial controls on subcontractors, suppliers and operatives.
  • Ensure all as built records, BIM data and compliance sheets are maintained and collated throughout the project and form part of the handover at project completion.
  • Ensure full participation in staff development review, training and mentoring
  • Ensure the timely reporting of information in line with internal company and external client requirements
  • Co-ordinate site setting out to satisfy contract programme requirements, delegating or carrying out setting out as necessary. Ensure standard Company procedures are adopted in carrying out setting out operations, and that effective methods of communication are used in transmitting information to operatives and subcontractors.
  • Oversee the engineering delivery on the project and ensure the timely identification and resolution of conflicts, errors or omissions
  • Site Management - Assist the site management team in the initial site set up, actively installing Company systems and procedures. Rigorously apply effective planning techniques, methods analysis and controls to ensure the most effective and continuous use of the Company resources.





Experience and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have previous and relevant experience in the construction of wind farms and major highway construction

  • Health & Safety - CSCS
  • SMSTS - if applicable
  • Environmental awareness
  • HNC / Degree in appropriate discipline
