We're looking for a Service Analyst to join us in Edinburgh
  • Joining our Vulnerability Management team within Cyber Defence and Security Response, you'll be responsible for the technical analysis of vulnerability data, supplemented by threat intelligence
  • You will have a background in technical IT security, with proven data analysis skills
  • You'll be joining us at an exciting time where, as part of the wider security team we're evolving to keep pace with the progressive threat landscape

What you'll do

The team is responsible for analysing threats and vulnerabilities, and as a Threat Management Senior Analyst, you'll keep up to date with current trends in technical pressures. You'll research and understand technologies, and articulate your findings clearly to management and the Technology Security Board. With a critical eye, you'll conduct detailed analysis of emerging technical vulnerabilities to understand the potential impact on the function, and wider bank.

You'll also:
  • Analyse platform vulnerability reports to determine issues to prioritise, and contribute to service improvement by identifying opportunities to leverage existing capabilities
  • Coordinate and communicate across other technology disciplines to make sure the threat is fully understood
  • Build an understanding of malware infections and how they may affect the vulnerability process
  • Provide overall support to the Technology security incident management and recovery process

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role you'll have a good analytical and investigative mindset and be able to think outside the box. You'll also have proven experience in a security, threat or vulnerability environment.

You'll also need:
  • To be a real team player, who is focussed and highly motivated to deliver results in a high pressure environment
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • The ability to balance a busy workload and make good decisions in a high risk area
