Seafreight Forwarder

Do you have a seafreight background and can you be described as someone who handles choppy waters and remains constantly calm? Are you able to handle pressurised and time sensitive environment whilst all the while ensuring customer satisfaction?

Our client is seeking to appoint a Sea Freight Forwarder based in Co Antrim, reporting to the Freight Manager.

Working on your own initiative you will offer efficient solutions to customers, all the while paying the utmost attention to detail and of course continually providing exemplary service. Our client requires strong communicators with comprehensive knowledge of seafreight.

Primary duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Develop an excellent understanding of customer needs, provide them with superlative service and be the first point of contact for each individual customer
Follow all sea freight procedures as outlined by the company.
Comply with company health & safety and GDP Pharma Guidelines.
Dealing with customs clearance /invoicing/creditors plus any other reports and administration duties as required
Liaise with overseas partners to ensure the department is proactive in providing a quality operational performance
Develop in depth knowledge of all aspects of the role to ensure full ownership.
Delivery and collection scheduling and dealing with carriers/hauliers/subcontractors and third parties.



As a successful applicant you will come from a freight forwarding background, (preferably seafreight), and ideally have the following:

Freight forwarding industry certification. Preferable to have excellent multi modal Freight & Logistics understanding.
Ability to remain calm under pressure as well as work to tight deadlines
Excellent attention to detail as well as able to take responsibility for fostering continuous improvement
A natural problem solver with the tenacity to follow every single detail through to the letter
Used to work Maintaining and/or implementing good working practices & procedures to ensure that the department run efficiently and with professionalism.
Proactive participation and adherence to the company QSHE system.
Delivering excellence in quality and customer service every time.
Familiar with managing your performance via Key Performance Indicators as discussed with your manager.
Pro-actively look for continuous improvement with the department to ultimately provide the customer with an efficient and professional service
