About the role & About us  

The position will be 3 days a week for the 4 year duration of the scheme based at an office in St Austell.

St Austell Townscape Heritage scheme is a £1.3 million Heritage Lottery Fund regeneration which will start in June 2018 and last for four years.  The scheme will offer grants for repairs to approximately 14 key historic buildings, reinstate 10 new shop fronts and signs, and bring about 15 empty or underused buildings back in to use.  It will also progress a programme of complementary initiatives including traditional and sustainable skills training and volunteer survey work.

The Project Manager (St Austell TH scheme) will work closely with the Project Coordinator to successfully deliver the St Austell Townscape Heritage (TH) scheme. This will involve meeting and negotiating potential schemes with property owners and guiding them through the application process. It will involve monitoring progress of the scheme in liaison with scheme partners and providing financial budgetary control to ensure that the proposed outcomes of the scheme are fully met.

About you 

Educated to degree standard the successful candidate will be motivated and able to work on their own, as part of a small team and with a number of internal and external partners.  The role will require an honest, trustworthy person with strong written and verbal communication skills.  Strong project management experience, preferably in a relevant heritage–related field, and good IT and financial skills are essential.  There will be a need to work to tight deadlines and for a positive proactive approach to resolving problems.
