Estimator - Main Contractor
Salary up to GBP65,000 + Car/Allowance + 25 Day Holiday

A leading Sussex Main Contractor is currently looking for an experienced Estimator to join their established commercial team.

Based in the thriving City of Brighton, the cultural hub of the United Kingdom, this is an excellent opportunity to join one of the regions leading construction companies.

The business has experience and expertise to carry out major Residential, Educational, Ecclesiastical, Leisure and Commercial projects to the value of GBP5 million.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce analytical rate build up information for Bills of Quantities as instructed in an accurate and well detailed format.
To identify and analyse "angles" to give a commercial advantage to the Company bids.
To identify and analyse risks and produce a risk register to support the tender at settlement meetings.
Prepare site preliminary cost estimates in accordance with the current Company trading requirements.
To attend the tender settlement meetings and ensuring that all relevant cost information is readily available for presentation and complete the tender as instructed and gain confidence of Management Board in presenting quality of cost estimate information.
All documentation gathered for a successful bid submission to departments concerned that comply with the Company Quality Management System. Communicate to all parties the nature of the work and any special conditions affecting the contract, by the production staff fully understanding how the bid was put together.
Maintain regular contact with the Delivery Teams at all times to obtain feedback on cost, technical and commercial performance.

Experience and Qualifications:

HNC/HND Construction is advantageous
A proven track record of preparing tenders.
A good understanding of commercial estimating software and Excel.
Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills.
Strong problem solving skills
The ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
