The MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology is one of the birthplaces of molecular biology and excels at deciphering the molecular mechanisms of life.  It provides an unsurpassed environment for both new and established researchers.  Scientists are drawn to the LMB from all over the world, creating a lively and international community for the exchange of ideas and technical innovation.

We are seeking a Research Support Assistant to provide technical assistance for the running, maintenance and development of the world-leading electron microscopy facility at the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK. The main aim of the facility is to support the development and application of cryo-electron microscopy (EM) in the context of Structural Biology for basic and medical research. The EM facility includes ten electron microscopes and associated preparation equipment including three Titan Krios electron microscopes.

The main duties include: maintaining, repairing and upgrading electron microscopes and associated equipment; training and assisting users; troubleshooting problems; contributing to the smooth running of the facility; and facilitating research projects. You will work closely with other facility staff and with users.
