Shift Team Manager (Manufacturing)

Our Client is a global leader in stainless steel with a crude stainless steel capacity of 3.1 million tonnes. They create advanced materials that are efficient, long lasting and recyclable – helping to build a world that lasts forever.

They are looking for a Shift Manager to join their team where you will provide cover and lead the operational and engineering shift teams. This is a permanent position based at their Sheffield site where you will work 12 hour shifts on a rolling pattern.

Within the role you will co-ordinate and manage all shift activities. Providing leadership for the operational shift management team, including Team Leaders and the Shift Engineer, you will have responsibility for the shift safety performance, including organising short term risk assessments and reviews as well as safety audits and inspections. Planning for shift engineering activities to be carried out effectively, you will co-operate with day managers and engineers whilst managing shift activities.

They are looking for someone who is educated to degree level or has experience of practical steelmaking or casting. With a good knowledge of manufacturing and operating equipment, you will be able to lead, coach and motivate employees, demonstrating manufacturing excellence along the way.

An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification would be beneficial, but what is important is that you have strong communications skills, are IT literate and have excellent planning, organisation and problem-solving abilities.
