Head of Finance & Support Services GBP45,000 pa, Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week At Lepra the role of The Head of Finance & Support Services is interesting and diverse. The post holder acts as Company Secretary and has responsibility for all areas of financial management and control as well as HR, IT, facilities management, administrative and governance support. The role reports to the Chief Executive and will be a member of the senior management team. What we would like from you: Be a qualified accountant (or part qualified if significant demonstrable equivalent experience can be provided) with experience of operating at a senior level Experience of providing financial support Experience and understanding of regulation compliance for example that of the Charity Commission and Companies' House A track record of building effective teams Experience of managing the budgeting process at a senior level in an organisation Sound knowledge of charity financial accounting and reporting rules including the Charities SORP Financial planning, analysis and reporting skills Ability to develop and maintain relationships internally and externally Competent at communicating financial information to a non-financial audience The successful candidate will require an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS) check to be completed prior to commencement. This disease affects the most vulnerable people in the world, causing life-changing disabilities, but there is a cure. More than 600 people are diagnosed and start treatment each day, over 50 of these are children. But, due to fear and lack of knowledge, there are over 3 million people across the world living with undiagnosed leprosy and every day the disease causes more damage to their health, livelihood and future. We work directly with communities in Bangladesh, India and Mozambique to find, diagnose and rehabilitate people affected by leprosy. Through raising awareness, pushing for early detection and reducing stigma we support people so they can transform their lives. Last year (2) we reached more than 252,000 people directly through diagnosis, treatment and care. We reached a further 1.3 million people through health education and events to raise awareness of diseases and reduce stigma.
