Inspire Resourcing are looking to place an experienced Civil Design Engineer with a local client in Chesterfield.

As a Civil Design Engineer duties include:
• Preparation of drainage design
• Liaise with water authorities for the adoption, diversion and connections of sewers.
• Preparation of highway design
• Liaise with the local highway authority to negotiate the adoption of new and alteration of existing highways.
• Project Management of planning applications and preparation of Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, Transportation Statements and Transportation Assessments.
• Commissioning speed surveys and assessment of stopping sight distances for junctions.
• Earthworks balance/ land form design using PDS
• Supervise Technicians and Apprentices
• Check drawings for technical compliance, quality and presentation.
• Liaison with Clients and project Stakeholders
• Attend Meetings
• Support Project Managers and Directors as required
• Project Management
• Financial/Budget Management
• Preparation of fee bids
• Site supervision
• Contract preparation
• Contract administration
Key Skills & Qualifications needed:
• Civil Engineering qualification or a related discipline (HNC level or equivalent)
• Experience in PDS, AutoCAD, LSS and Flow
• Experience in Section 38, 104 & 278 adoptions
• Good understanding of design procedures, change control, checking and review
• Knowledge of the planning process is desirable
• Experience of working in collaborative design team/environment
