The Reading Agency requires an experienced business development consultant to develop and implement a sustainability strategy for our Reading Friends programme. Reading Friends is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and has been awarded GBP2.1 million over four years, from 2. Reading Friends starts conversations through reading to connect older people and reduce isolation and loneliness. Reading Friends is UK-wide, but locally delivered by public libraries as well as community and voluntary sector organisations. This contract is to scope the potential and feasibility of a variety of sustainability options, and develop a strong sustainability strategy for the rest of the funded period of the project and beyond. We require a skilled business development consultant with strong financial skills, strategic business development acumen and a strong track record of leading successful social entrepreneurship and income generation projects. This contract is offered on a freelance basis for 12 months from April 2018 to end March 2019.
