Surrey Police is looking for a part time (24 hours a week) permanent consultation and survey analyst to support a range of operational and business support portfolios. There is some flexibility around when the hours are worked and this can be discussed at interview if successful.
We are seeking bright and enthusiastic individuals of graduate calibre (degree in analytical subject within social sciences or with well proven and evidenced experience in an analytical environment looking at qualitative data and survey results) to join our existing highly skilled consultation and survey analysts.
The Role
As an analyst within the Performance & Consultation Unit you will develop and implement effective means of conducting survey research and dissemination of analysed date to key stakeholder groups in support of the force strategy. You will proactively liaise with customers to provide them with timely, accurate and relevant assessments of performance in relation to the force's strategy.

Skills & Experience
You will be required to manage and analyse surveys relating to the teams' core work. This work covers statutory obligations on Surrey Police and so will include the timely submission of data returns to the Home Office. You will assist in the design and implementation of effective research tools, in particular surveys. You will apply statistical techniques to your analysis, incorporating additional relevant information to draw inferences and make recommendations in a variety of forms to force managers. Report writing and the ability to convey information succinctly will be an important element of your role.
To be successful you will have proven and well-evidenced research abilities, either through a relevant degree or work experience. This means you will have a minimum of 2 year's experience of research design, application and analysis. You should have demonstrable experience of both qualitative and quantitative research techniques with a proven ability in using SPSS. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to address groups and individuals at all levels, whilst your exceptional planning and prioritisation skills will enable you to adapt to rapidly changing demands.

Additional Information
The successful candidate will start as a junior consultation and survey analyst (grade G) with the opportunity to develop a portfolio of work that can lead them to an established analyst position on grade H, usually within two years of starting.
