Location: Northamptonshire
Summary
Our Client, a successful manufacturing business near Kettering, is looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a full-time permanent basis.
Duties / Responsibilities
*Raising invoices,
*Raising "invoice only" invoices & maintaining un-posted invoices,
*Raising customer credit notes for customers for discounts, price differentiation, over-riders, vouchers & misc items on a timely basis / as per agreement,
*Performing bank recs for all accounts on a timely basis & resolving discrepancies,
*Performing purchase order reconciliations & resolving discrepancies within reports,
*Performing BACS payment runs for purchase ledger,
*Raising month-end credit notes based on agreed discount rates,
*Performing accounts for subsidiary companies (including full reporting & audit work),
*Prepare intrastat reports for sales & purchase within a specified time limits,
*Assisting in producing reports for the Board as required,
*Provide support for other finance staff, improving departmental efficiency & inter-departmental relations,
*Achieving targets for the processing of paperwork & clearing out old paperwork,
*Responding to customer queries,
*Provide holiday cover for other finance staff,
*Adhoc duties as required.
General
*Attend briefings & meetings that you are invited to,
*Adhere to the Company health & safety regulations and report to Line Manager or members of Health & Safety Committee anyone seen to be putting themselves or others at risk,
*Raise issues with Line Manager in line with Company procedures,
*Perform all the above duties in line with job description,
*Establish an effective working relationship with other team members / other departments,
*Perform any other duties in line with training & experience as delegated by Line Manager.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
*Qualifications: Must possess AAT Level 3 or greater.
*Experience: Must have worked for a manufacturing company for at least one year, must have experience of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, Balance Sheet Recs.
*Knowledge: Must understand basic accounting & how transactions dovetail within a set of accounts.
*Skills: MS Excel & Word, ability to analyse data & create ad-hoc reports.
*Personal Attributes: Personable, Helpful & Committed.
Desirable
*Qualifications: AAT Qualified, studying for ACCA / CIMA.
*Experience: carried out a similar role for a smaller firm.
*Knowledge: Should have produced Final Management Accounts.
*Skills: Advanced MS Excel to Pivot Tables, Macros, Lookups.
*Personal Attributes: Sees the job through a "can-do" attitude.
Salary
*Salary: £23,000 - £28,000 per annum (subject to experience)
*Hours: Full-time, Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5:00pm (permanent)
*Holiday: 29 Days (21 + STAT)
