Summary: Experienced Infrastructure Engineer required with Windows Server, IP networking and virtualisation background, attracting an excellent salary depending on Qualifications and Experience.

We provide Innovative IT Solutions to a varied customer base across the UK. We offer fully outsourced IT to SMEs as well as developing and delivering hosted software solutions to clients including the Environment Agency and over 100 local government bodies.

This new role will expand our IT Project and Infrastructure team tackling a wide range of IT challenges and designing innovative solutions, starting from the concept stage and following through to specification, implementation and live deployment.

Candidates will have a good working knowledge of server virtualisation technologies, particularly Microsoft Hyper-V. Experience of AWS deployments will also be a distinct advantage. Experience of building Microsoft Server environments will be expected and Citrix server build experience will be desirable. An in-depth understanding of Microsoft desktop operating systems will be needed to back up the capability to design and provide 2nd/3rd line support of large scale PC deployments. Knowledge and practical experience of TCP/IP networking including the configuration of firewalls, routers and switches will be a requirement. Experience with VoIP Telephony would also be very useful.

The role will attract an excellent annually reviewed salary , depending on experience and qualifications. Hours of work will generally be an 8 hour day falling between the hours of 8am to 6pm. Occasional out-of-hours work will be a requirement due to the nature of the role.

The successful candidate will have a proactive attitude and an investigative mind, be enthusiastic, self-motivated and willing to take full ownership of their responsibilities to achieve impressive results on tight timescales. This requires the candidate to have excellent time and workload management skills and have good communication and interpersonal skills which are essential for this role; the ability to build and maintain strong collaborative client relationships being of key importance. On-site visits to customer sites will be an important element of the job and a full driving licence is desirable.
