The Organisation: 

Our client is recruiting on behalf of a pioneering charity that is dedicated to ending domestic violence and abuse. They are now looking for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join their team on a part time contract lasting until the end of July 2018.

In this key role, you will act as a positive influence for abuse victims and enable them to reach their full potential. 

You’ll work alongside a welcoming and committed team who are always seeking new ways to innovate and provide an outstanding service to those affected by domestic abuse. 

The Role: 

As a Domestic Abuse Support Worker, you will deliver a comprehensive, high quality, accessible frontline service to victims of domestic abuse across a number of projects. 

Taking responsibility for all aspects of a domestic abuse support service, you will work with families referred to the charity using a holistic family approach. 

You will join the Supporting People Programme, enabling individuals to achieve measurable outcomes through support. Additionally, you will operate as part of a multi-agency framework to improve response to domestic violence and abuse. 

About You: 

To join this passionate team, you will need: 

- At least two years’ experience working with vulnerable adults and/or families or children and young people 
- The ability to engage families in solution- focused problem solving 
- At a minimum, an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field or the willingness to work towards one, i.e. social care or health 
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work purposes 
- An awareness of equal opportunities and ability to work in a non-discriminatory way 
- The willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends and to take part in a 24 hour emergency on call rota 

Other organisations may call this role Domestic Abuse Support Worker, Support Worker, Social Worker, Children’s Support Worker, Social Care Worker, Social Care Co-ordinator or Family Support Worker. 

This is a part time role working 22.5 hours per week on a contract until the end of July 2018. 

Please note, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an advanced DBS check, which will be arranged by the employer/our client.
