They now have an exciting opportunity for a GSE Technician to join them at Birmingham Airport to service and maintain all Ground Service Equipment (GSE).

In the role you will operate and drive all types of GSE – motorised and non-motorised, provide trouble-shooting and diagnostic assessment of GSE faults – diagnosing and repairing as necessary, modify and overhaul power plant, drive-train, brake, electric and hydraulic systems, prepare and paint ground support equipment and respond to emergency service calls and accidents involving GSE.

With at least 2 years’ experience in HGV / Heavy Plant / Construction equipment and a good level of mechanical/electrical engineering experience, you will have a full driving licence and excellent communication skills, along with three GCSE’s / O Level or Leaving Cert (and equivalent) and an accredited qualification in the functional area. Additionally, you will be flexible to work various shifts, able to travel to the airport at times when public transport isn’t available and willing to work in inclement weather.

Previous experience working in an aviation environment would be an advantage, as would knowledge of computer maintenance programs, e.g. Maximo/IMS-Fleet Maintenance Pro and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
