Apprentice - Assistant Accountant

Salary: £6,946 [£3.60 per hour]

Contract Type: Full Time, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, Fixed Term until 31/05/2020

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant Apprentice to join our Finance team here at South Devon College.  You will work as part of the College Finance team on a range of tasks, including using software, banking cash, processing data, analysing and reporting.  You will participate in a formal training course, undertaking a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification as an Assistant Accountant with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).  The Apprenticeship qualification is provided on a day release basis at our Vantage Point campus in Paignton.  You will be fully supported with guidance and on the job training throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship.

The successful candidate will need to hold both English and Maths GCSEs (or equivalent), and have work experience in any capacity.  You will need to have good numeracy and IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, and have good verbal and written communication skills.  The ideal candidate will be organised, enthusiastic about a career in Finance and demonstrate good attention to detail.
