Role Overview:

Highways is the largest of five business units that make up the Galliford Try Infrastructure Division. It delivers projects for national and local clients.
The team has expanded in recent times and with strong project performance along with successful work winning, we are continuing to build and re-structure the business including operations for Highways England, Local Authorities and Highway Maintenance.

The project that this role is required for is to work on Highways England's flagship Smart Motorways Programme and is being delivered via a joint venture between Galliford Try and Costain. We are improving the 37.9km (23.6 miles) section of the M1 between junctions 13 and 16, which passes through Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire and provides connections to the towns of Bedford, Milton Keynes and Northampton. The project will involve upgrading this section to an All-Lane Running (ALR) smart motorway.

The Site Engineer will take responsibility for overall engineering control and site management functions (e.g. H&S, Quality, Commercial) allocated by the Site Manager during site occupancy, and thus maintaining and maximising quality of service and profitability.
