Senior Digital Product Owner - Digital Transformation

Why this role matters

Working in the digital transformation team you will be leading on, driving and owning the delivery of agile and CMS projects across our different brands to give our customers personal, simple and brilliant online sales and service experiences that realise efficiencies of scale whilst maintaining each brands unique identity.

What you'll be doing

  • Owning the overall roadmap for your area - own the vision and roadmap for your AEM domain area and be actively aware of the overall transformation/AEM strategy and roadmap and how this impacts and aligns with your area of ownership
  • Owning the budget and work allocation for your area - allocate budgets and resources according to project and business priorities and understand impacts on other areas
  • Turning requirements into projects - you'll know how to take ideas from the business and translate them into detailed requirements and acceptance criteria for our digital and technical teams to build out into intuitive, flawless products our customers will love using.
  • Prioritising and managing product backlogs - identifying and agreeing MVP deliverables and deciding what to build and what not to
  • Actively engaging in sprint planning + reviews - agreeing sprint goals + priorities and reviewing outputs of each sprint against requirements, acceptance criteria and UX/Visual designs. Requesting re-work where required.
  • Working to define UX and creative - you'll work with our internal creative studio team to deliver fantastic digital experiences, from wireframes through to creative design assets.
  • Keeping things consistent - you'll have a clear idea of how to keep the user experience in line with our brands and consistent with other products, UX, creative design templates and principles.
  • Running stakeholder demonstrations - sharing creative with stakeholders and ensuring they have a show + tell, demonstration of what has been delivered in each sprint
  • Working with development and architecture teams - understanding the technical detail and dependencies between systems
  • Promoting collaboration across teams - providing the link between business owner, digital teams, technical development teams, test teams and across brands
  • Participating in UAT - working with test teams to ensure deliverables are working as expected and fit for deployment and being able to demonstrate this is the case
  • Managing defects - prioritise defects, understand and communicate timelines for fixes
  • Taking ownership - for delivery and quality of the end to end experience
  • Resolving conflicts - promoting resolution of requirement, priority, cross discipline conflicts and controlling scope
  • Identifying risks - flag any risks that could have a detrimental effect on the project and be proactive in mitigating against these and offering solutions
  • Spotting opportunities - for improvement and knowledge sharing. Participate in sprint retrospectives, offer input on how processes, ways of working could be improved and how we can make our sales and self-service experience even better for our customers aligned to our digital strategy.
  • Finding out what works - you'll work with others to make sure the products and online journeys are performing as expected and look to drive optimisation based on data and insight.

  • Ability to influence key stakeholders on priority, costs and roadmaps
  • Negotiation and compromise skills to achieve the right outcomes for the business and our customers
  • Ability to provide rapid options and recommendations for project priorities, allocation of resources and budgets
  • Be comfortable with competing demands on resources and budgets from different stakeholders and find ways to achieve win win outcomes
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and be able to shape your area with minimal guidance and support
  • Ability to manage / present to stakeholders up to MD level
  • Ability to line manage and coach and support a team
  • Industry experience of working in a Digital team
  • Agile methodology experience - delivered projects using agile methodology + practices
  • Content Management System experience - delivered CMS projects, including AEM projects
  • Knowledge of APIs and how backend systems work in a large enterprise
  • Experience of delivering accessible digital solutions - have a thorough knowledge of accessibility standards and applying these
  • Professional agile qualification - you will be an accredited Digital Product Owner and be able to apply this to drive process change and recommendations within the team
