Goodwin International now have a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, solutions focused Engineering Design Manager to join their senior team. From the onset you be the lead design authority for a family of cutting edge products as well as a major contributor to new product innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
New product development and the provision of support for existing lines.
Manage and lead a team of design engineers with a diverse mix of skills and abilities to deliver required outputs and solutions.
Provide technical support and direction to the design team.
Active participant throughout each phase of New Product Introduction (NPI).
Communicate effectively and professionally with internal/external customers and suppliers.
Ensure that designs comply with all appropriate customer requirements and meet regulatory requirements.
Ensure the highest levels of quality and productivity are maintained within the team and department.
Mentor your team to develop and hone their skills, identifying and assessing gaps in their capabilities required to complete allocated tasks, arranging training and support where required.

Essential Criteria:
Extensive experience in 3D CAD modelling and drafting.
Extensive experience in a mechanical design engineering role.
New product development and introduction experience.
Experience in the use of Finite Element Analysis Software (e.g. ANSYS).
Experience of being the responsible design authority for an in-house engineered product.
Good knowledge of best practice design life-cycle, gated design phases, design reviews etc.
Line Management experience within an engineering environment
Willing to get hands dirty and carry out a variety of work, ranging from business planning of new products through to modelling and drafting of components / assemblies for customer orders as workload demands.
Bachelors Degree (Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline).
Effective communicator and team player.
Detail conscious with high personal and team standards.
Driven individual who strives for success.
Flexible, hardworking and willing to take on new challenges.

Desirable Criteria:
Experience in the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Software.
Experience of functional safety engineering in accordance with IEC 61508.
Experience and/or knowledge of 3D CAD Solidworks software.
Design engineering experience in the Oil and Gas industry, industrial equipment.
Instrumentation engineering experience.
Actuation and/or valve design experience.
