The role The primary purpose of the role will be the Office Account & Client account functions. The candidate will be an integral member of the Accounts department cashiering team. The cashiering team experience very high volumes & the candidate will therefore work on a variety of different tasks on a daily basis. They will also have an opportunity to train on a number of other tasks for cross cover purposes which will enable them to expand on their own skill set. The Cashier Team comprises of seven team members; Head Cashier, Senior Cashier, two Client Cashiers, two Office Cashiers and a floating Cashier. Tasks and responsibilities Raising Office Account Cheque Payments. Processing Office Account Cheque Receipts. Entering Supplier Invoices into Elite & reconciling supplier statements. Entering Counsel Fee Notes, Experts and Agents into Elite & reconciling statements. Processing Weekly Purchase Ledger BACS Payment Runs. Monitoring Online Banking facilities for receipts and payments. Loading CSV files from suppliers through Excel into Elite. Chasing internal allocation of rechargeable disbursements. Raising Client Account Cheque Payments. Processing Client Account Cheque Receipts. Processing Client to Client Journals. Processing Client to Office Bill Payments. Processing Bank to Bank Transfers and Journals. Operation of Designated Deposits. Cover the Process of CHAPS Payments through online banking. Barclays RBS & Lloyds Bank. Reconciling Bank Statements with Elite Cashbook entries. Dealing with queries from fee earners and support staff. Liaising with the bank. Ad hoc tasks. Filing & archiving. Nominal journals. Technical skills/experience Experience working on Client & Office Account outlined above. Ability to deal with large volumes of work, to prioritise your own workload, to manage your time and work well under pressure. Ability to pay careful attention to detail. Knowledge of SARs. Knowledge of VAT regulations. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Awareness on Money Laundering regulations that impact on this area of work. Personal attributes Ability to deal with fee earners and support staff queries in a timely way. Willing to take on additional responsibilities, with training.
