We are looking for an estimator/cost planner to join our busy team :

Working times : Monday-Friday , 8.5 hrs a day . ( office hours)

temp with a perm option.

The key skills that we are looking for are:
• Sound infrastructure/civil engineering estimating experience with a recognised main contractor
• Daily travel of Newport, South Wales
• Experience of proprietary estimating software Candy, Conquest preferred

?? Water industry experience preferred

•Using DCWW's Unit Cost Database (UCD) deliver costed options for feasibility purposes between Gateway 2 (award to the Alliance) and Gateway 3 (Commit to Solution)
•Provide sound commercial advice and high level cost plans to the feasibility team in relation to alternative options proposed between Gateway 2 and 3.
•Identify the component parts of any Capital Maintenance Project from outline drawings and feasibility studies to facilitate pricing of Solution Target Costs using the UCD system.
•Work within a common Estimating Process across the Alliance using a standardised Estimating Package (Candy)
•Work with the Project Team to deliver the estimating function ensuring accurate, consistent and transparent pricing from first principles of Projects for delivery by the Alliance.
•Produce detailed Latest Best Estimates at Gateway 4 (proceed to site) to establish the latest Project cost forecast for comparison against the Business Plan Target or Solution Target Price, for Gateway 4 Governance and forecasting purposes.
•Ensure that all estimates are capable of being used as the base targets for Earned Value Analysis during construction.
•Liaise with the Project Planner to ensure that all estimates align with the Work Breakdown Structures and Activity Schedules contained in Project P6 Programmes.
•Provide clear, standardised data from estimates in the form required to populate the UCD using standardised Data Capture Templates
