London Region Tax is a successful and exciting team of over 300 people, providing advice to London based companies outside of the FTSE 100. The team is split between four core groups - Listed Business, Private Business Private Client, Private Equity, and People & Organisation. London Region Tax's strength lies in its diversity and it continues to show growth despite a challenging market.
Our clients are large and medium sized companies, whether privately or publically owned, and private clients and we look after all aspects of the tax relationship, and work with other lines of service to deliver a wider offering for our clients. Clients of the wider LRT team include the likes of Northern & Shell Media, ARUP, Savills Plc, Canary Wharf Group, CBRE, Merlin Entertainments and National Grid Plc.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for Managers to join the Listed Business Client team in London Region Tax, based in Embankment Place. The role will be primarily focussed on advising large listed property groups.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for Managers to join the Listed Business Client team in London Region Tax, based in Embankment Place. The role will be primarily focussed on advising large listed property groups.
Core responsibilities
- To provide advice on a variety of scenarios including:
- Structuring the ownership of property held in the UK and overseas;
- All tax aspects of property acquisitions and disposals, including financing and sale & purchase agreements;
- Managing due diligence assignments relating to new property or corporate acquisitions, including the input of specialists in VAT, Stamp and the Construction Industry Scheme;
- Providing advice to group's within the Real Estate Investment Trust ("REIT") regime;
- Fund structuring;
- Development planning;
- Reorganising groups to optimise tax efficiency.
- You will manage a portfolio of clients, delegating work to and supporting the development of more junior staff and reporting to Senior Managers and/ or Engagement Leaders.
- You will overview the tax compliance aspects of your client portfolio, including corporation tax computations and non-resident landlord tax returns, although this is not a primary component of the role, as support is provided by specialist compliance teams.
- Breadth of corporate tax knowledge and the ability to develop client relationships as part of a team.
- Experience of real estate work would be helpful but is not essential.
- Be ambitious and want to contribute to developing the wider team.
- Ability to advise UK and inbound groups on range of UK and international structuring issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills (the ability to communicate with non-tax specialists is crucial).
- Ability to motivate and support the development of our junior staff.
- Passion for client service.
