Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant - Leeds - to GBP25,000 + Study

Assistant Accountant is required for my expanding Leeds based client. The client is looking for an Accountant who is ideally studying an accountancy qualification and looking to take the next step of their career. The role will work closely with the Financial Controller and assist with the day to day duties of the finance team.

Key duties of the role include;

Assist with month-end duties
Assist with year-end audits
Maintain accruals and prepayments
Posting of journals
Supervise ledger clerks and ensure integrity of ledger
Reconciliation of all bank and invoice finance accounts
Authorise bills of exchange and payment runs
Managing foreign currency accounts
Maintain fixed asset register
Manage customer rebates

The client is looking for someone to develop and progress within the business, hence the offer of study support. This is a highly visible role within the business and should be the first steps of a developing career with the business. There is an expectation to continue studies through to qualified status.
