We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper to join a friendly team in this family company. Given our recent growth, our company is looking to expand its in-house accounts team.

This is a part time, office based position. You will work in our central London office (near Oxford Circus and Bond Street tube stations). Days and hours can be discussed.


  • Entering sales and debtor invoices to a cloud-based accounting package (experience of QuickBooks, WorkBook, Xero, Kashflow is an advantage)
  • Approval, logging and processing of all invoices and expenses claims
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Communicating with vendors to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies in a timely and polite manner
  • Filing paper invoices, credit notes etc into appropriate file folders and maintaining the logical and organised structure of these files
  • Analysing data and generating reports on a weekly/monthly basis on both sales and purchase ledgers;
  • Following up with clients/vendors on monthly statements
  • Maintaining an accurate Excel log of all invoices and their current status (unpaid/paid/disputed etc);
  • Nominal Ledger Reconciliations
  • Processing invoice payments and sending payment confirmations to clients/vendors
  • Processing/Reconciling of Direct Debit transactions
  • Purchase Ledger activities including invoice Nominal Coding and Posting of invoices
  • Raising company invoices and distributing these to colleagues;
  • Reconciling, entering and maintaining invoices on accounting software;
  • Supplier payments
  • Supplier Statement reconciliations to ensure ledgers are kept up to date

In addition, from time to time, you may be asked to undertake other tasks and responsibilities not covered above in order to achieve project or corporate objectives.


The ideal candidate will have the following skills, strengths and experience:

  • 5+ years of UK bookkeeping experience, ideally within an equivalent size company
  • Excellent attention to detail (very important) with a high level of accuracy, numerical and analytical skills
  • Approachable, friendly and helpful
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Customer-focused and able to build strong and lasting relationships
  • Proactive and action oriented
  • Strong communication skills - good listener and observer with the ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, aloud and in writing to any audience
  • Team player, able to build credible and strong professional relationships across culturally diverse teams


  • Mathematics / Accounting / Business Studies A Level or equivalent
