Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. We bring together people affected by more than 60 rare and very rare progressive muscle-weakening and wasting conditions. We provide a range of services and opportunities to help people live as independently as possible. We campaign to improve the quality of life of the people across the UK who live with muscle-wasting conditions. You will contribute to the development and implementation of an expanding Trusts and grants fundraising programme as part of Muscular Dystrophy UK's national fundraising strategy to maximise net income. You will lead on applications focussed on Research to develop treatments and ultimately a cure for muscle-wasting conditions. Tasks and responsibilities include: Maximise gross income by establishing and developing long-term relationships with trusts, foundations, livery companies and statutory funders through excellent account management. Research and make contact with current and potential grantmakers with potential to give GBP20,000 and over, to identify best prospects for areas of work agreed with Head of Trusts and Grants As the basis for submitting high-quality, targeted bids, monitor all current and newly-approved MDUK projects using the research team project planning database and liaising with relevant senior staff; keep up to date on planned developmental work and advise as appropriate on relation to key funders' interests. Work with Directors and other colleagues to ensure that bids are accurate, contain up to date information and demonstrate outcomes that will make bids more attractive to grantmakers.
