What you'll be doing

An exceptional opportunity to be part of the Group Customer Billing - Credit Risk & Fraud Department (CR&F), supporting and protecting the growth of the Consumer segment with focus on BT's Pay Monthly Mobile (PAYM) portfolios.
  • As a Senior Manager within the Decision Analytics team of CR&F, you will be responsible for defining, prioritising and developing enhancements to Consumer In Life credit strategies across BT's PAYM portfolios. You will be responsible for a team of Consultants and Analysts and the reporting of monthly KPIs and setting regular meetings to review trends and generating insights to be shared with the wider CR&F team and stakeholders.
  • In addition you must have strong commercial skills in being able to optimise portfolio performance and be able to identify how changes to credit strategies (including scorecard development) or new propositions could influence revenue, involuntary churn, bad debt and customer experience and present these findings to the appropriate stakeholders for approval.
  • Upon approval of any strategies or policies, you will be required to work closely with the Policy & Process team to ensure a smooth implementation of your recommendation.
  • Your team will be working with SAS Enterprise Guide and be hands on with large volumes of data, so attention to detail and the ability to validate, interrogate and infer insights from the data is essential to being successful in this role.


Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable for driving up the performance of existing customer KPI's and improving their customer experience within BT's PAYM portfolios.
  • Initiate development and thought management of Credit Risk Strategies for PAYM portfolios, with a view to optimising performance to reduce aged debt, involuntary churn, bad debt charge and eligibility rates for upgrade and add line decisions.
  • Ability to lead your team to deliver a programme of initiatives to drive a step change in existing customer KPI's.
  • Provide prioritisation and direction for the detailed analysis and insight into credit risk performance.
  • Represent Credit Risk in key commercial and governance meetings to a) raise awareness of the resulting impacts to In Life KPIs and b) to promote the successful adoption of initiatives and policies within the wider business.
  • Establish and maintain key relationships across the BT Group including senior management, external suppliers and peers to align objectives between the relevant LOBs and the Credit Risk & Fraud department.


We'll also need to see these on your CV:

  • Experience of working in a high volume Consumer Credit Risk environment, either in an Acquisition or In Life capacity
  • Previous line management responsibilities with a track record of high performance
  • Experience in the Telecommunications domain will be advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Strong commercial skills with the ability to impact assess initiatives and derive robust business cases
  • Evidence of influencing stakeholders and proposing robust strategy recommendations
  • Degree level or equivalent experience in a financial, statistical or mathematical specialism
