Salary: £23,398 to £24,964 per annum (SCP 26 - 28) + Current tool allowance payment of £30 per month

They are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced LCV/LGV Mechanic to operate in their vehicle workshops. They repair, service and maintain a variety of vehicles and equipment ranging from light plant, grounds maintenance machines/equipment, sweepers, vans, tractors, LGV's up to 26 tonne RCV's and inspection of taxis for condition/compliance.
A good understanding of light and large vehicle DVSA test regulations is essential as well as Health and Safety procedures.
Overview of the Role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for inspecting, preparing vehicles to DVSA standards for annual test, servicing and repairing various items on a diverse Council fleet.
You will have the ability to fault find, be able to use diagnostic equipment and provide solutions to mechanical, electrical, air, transmission, fuel and hydraulic systems carrying out repairs as appropriate.
Working 37 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 8-4 and Friday 8-3 with a 30minute lunch break. Flexibility is required to cover additional working on a rota basis at weekends for VOR, Statutory inspections, providing cover for Bank Holiday pullback's on Saturday's and working the week between Christmas and New Year.
Candidate:
You must be a time served Mechanic holding a minimum City and Guilds/ NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in vehicle maintenance.
