Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Bath
Salary: Up to £21k depending on experience.
Position: 40 hours per week, part-time considered
Closing Date: Tuesday 17th April 12:00

The Role:
The post is to provide bookkeeping support to the Finance Officer up to the level of Trial Balance as well as production of first draft of JHT accounts at month end.
Principle Areas of Accountability:
- Regular contact with managers and staff across the organisation and with external agencies
- Development and maintenance of positive working relationships with a wide cross section of people
- Uphold and conform to The Company's finance policy and procedures
- Supporting the Management Accountant in the day to day running of the finance office
Specific task to include:
- Reconciliation of the Purchase/Sale ledger. Investigate any variances further.
- Reconciliation of Petty cash for all the locations.
- Reconciliation of Retail Shop tills for JH
- Reconciliation of Fixed Asset for JH and JHT
- Reconciliation of Intercompany accounts for JH and JHT
- Cash book entries & Bank reconciliations for all accounts
- Processing of purchase invoices and credit notes on accounting systems for JHT and JH (if require)
- Prepare invoices for BACS payments for JHT and JH (if require)
- Raise sales invoices for JHT and conduct all Trial Balance reconciliations for the Balance Sheet.
- Provide the first draft of JHT accounts at month end.
Provide cover for Administration staff roles, including accounting and fundraising data entry
Team Work
- Attend and participate in regular supervision session, team and staff meetings.
- Attend appropriate training courses and participate in skill sharing sessions within the team.
- Liaise effectively and appropriately with other Company's staff, and where necessary with other agencies.
Health & Safety
- Ensure own safety, and the safety of those around. Comply with duties under the Health and Safety legislation.
General
Work in accordance with Company's equal opportunities policy and with all its other policies.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:
Essential:
- Ability to use Sage 200
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and advance Excel.
- AAT at foundation level
- Empathy and understanding the needs of Company's Service Users
- Commitment to Equality and Diversity
Desirable:
- Training to AAT at Intermediate (NVQ Level 3)
- Experience of working within Purchase & Sale Ledger
- Experience of working in Finance team
