Who we are:


We are a leading UK manufacturer of play, youth and sport equipment and surfaces. We have an exciting vacancy for an experienced Business Development Specialist (Lead Generation) to join our busy office in Derby, close to the city centre.

The Business Development Executive will play a fundamental role in achieving the organisation’s sales target. As a key member of the team the primary responsibilities are to build the relationships with customers/prospects, generate interest, identify, qualify and then quote opportunities. Some of these opportunities will be retained within your own pipeline and others provided to the field sales teams should site visits be required. 

Successful candidates will be earning a basic of up to £25,000 for a 36.5 hour week with uncapped commission but should expect to earn a realistic OTE of £30,000 in first year. 

No product experience is required as full training will be provided but you must be a confident and outgoing personality, ideally with telesales or telemarketing experience into the construction sector.

Business Development Specialist Role objectives:

+ Accountable for achieving sales targets and objectives as agreed
+ Source new sales opportunities through lead follow-up and outbound cold calls, emails and other channels. 
+ Make a minimum of 80 calls to generate 10 project opportunities daily. 
+ Develop relationships and nurture suitable prospects/customers to provide a regular stream of highly qualified leads. 
+ Accurately report activity within Salesforce CRM database
+ Understand customer needs and requirements and build strong relationships with customers and prospects.
+ Route qualified opportunities to own pipeline or to the appropriate field sales team for site visit and closure.
+ Manage own sales pipeline to closure.
+ Work as part of the sales team to generate ideas for company sales opportunities.
+ Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest.
+ Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory.

Requirements for this position:

+ Highly motivated and self-starting individual
+ Energetic with your own ‘drive’ to succeed 
+ Proven 2+ years telemarketing/telesales experience
+ Ideally experience in the technical markets such as Architectural, Civil Engineering and Construction work environment.
+ Track record of over-achieving quota.
+ Strong phone presence and experience of dialling up to 80 calls per day.
+ Ability to establish excellent working rapport with field sales teams, marketing, other team members and customers.
+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills
+ Strong research, listening and presentation skills.
+ Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
+ Experience in finding opportunities that may not be immediately obvious.

You must be:

+ An excellent telephone manner.
+ Clear, fluent English.
+ Confidence. All calls are non-scripted, you must possess the ability to be able to converse naturally with decision makers.
+ Disciplined and methodical approach to work.
+ Excellent attention to detail.
+ Determination and a great work ethic.
+ IT literate – Salesforce experience will be an advantage.
