Apprentice Printer

An opportunity has arisen to join our company, as a trainee / single colour printer at our busy Press room.
Responsibilities:
- Learning all aspects of Printing
- Assisting other printers in set up and make ready of machines
- Identifying and picking paper from the warehouse
- Filling machines with paper, ink and consumables
- General shop floor duties
- Running your own 2 colour, B2 machine after suitable training and demonstrating required proficiency
Background:
The successful applicant must be enthusiastic and be able to work as a member of a team in a busy environment. The role involves primarily printing but we are all hands to the pump company and the candidate will be expected to help out in all departments.
The applicant will undergo in house training with an option to undertake an external formal qualification using the Apprenticeship system. This would involve formal training both in house and externally with a training provider and at the end of the course will have a Level Two Apprenticeship in Print and Printed Packaging. The course involves computer based assessments, on-press assessments and has 1 days training a month at an external, local venue.
This is a full time, permanent role based in Morley, just outside of Leeds (LS27 postcode).
Core hours are Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1700 with an hour for lunch. Overtime will be necessary and on an ad hoc basis.
Starting salary will be meet national minimum wage requirements.
