Job Title: Build Engineer

Location : Yorkshire

High level Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role at the forefront of Virgin Media's Network Expansion (NEx) programme. Leading and coordinating a range of NEx build works and projects on site, you'll help to make sure Civils works deliver all our requirements and follow the law.

What is the role about:

You'll provide expertise in design, technical specifications and best practice for NEx works. As well as being a trusted consultant on these subjects, you'll mediate between our Partners, Planning and Activation Field Engineers, on matters ranging from network specs to technical issues. You will also be the point of escalation for any contractual dispute or regulation non-compliance.

What we are looking for:

Full working knowledge of all the statutory and regulatory requirements needed when carrying out streetworks

Proven experience of building and maintaining good working relationships with local authorities and other utilities

Good commercial and operational awareness, with excellent organisational skills

Knowledge of cabling and installation work in telecommunications networks, spanning Copper, PDH, SDH, MSAN/ECI BroadGate build and commissioning

Excellent people skills including communication, negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution
