This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, family run independent building and plumbing merchants with a head office in Leamington Spa. The Company prides itself on providing exceptional customer service and a friendly working environment.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate HR professional who will be the sole HR representative in the company. The successful candidate will support the business as it continues to grow and you will play a key role in shaping the future HR structure and policies during the next stage of their development.

You will provide an operational service to the business, by taking full ownership of the employee life-cycle from recruitment and selection, induction and development to talent management and off-boarding, including all related administration.

Role Responsibilities
- Recruitment, from job description to advertising to ensure effective interview and selection processes are in place and providing hands-on support where required.
- Advising & training Managers on the application of HR policies and processes
- Provide confidential and timely advice on matters such as disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance management
- Develop and implement robust and effective performance management programs.
- The effective implementation of the HR aspects of all agreed changes made to business structures.
- Identify & co-ordinate learning & development activity to ensure ongoing development.
- Support the development of competitive reward & benefit structures that help to drive business performance.
- Take steps to ensure that talent is identified and nurtured within the business and that a robust succession planning mechanism is in place.

Person Specification
- CIPD qualified or working towards qualification
- Experience of working in a SME business in a standalone HR capacity
- Experience in a multi-site retail environment
- Management level generalist experience in all areas of HR
- A good understanding of employment legislation and practical application in the UK
- Experience of managing the employee life cycle across a multi-site environment
- Will be self-motivated and highly proactive
- Will have excellent interpersonal skills to influence, engage and challenge in a positive manner
- Valid UK driving licence will be required due to travel to other sites
