Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Based: Bedford
Our client’s business is concerned with the manufacture and sale of grain products. They have a great opportunity to join their dynamic Engineering team based in Bedford. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the plant and building services to achieve the highest level of performance, reliability, product quality and safety.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Achieving a good understanding of Production processes.
- Possess the ability to diagnose process machinery faults.
- Diagnose faults in all machinery and auxiliary components.
- Have the knowledge to Use of Computerized Preventative maintenance system to keep records of system up to date with accurate work summaries.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- City and Guilds
- B.T.E.C
- Recognised Engineering qualification.
- Previous experience in a maintenance Engineering Role.
- Safe Electrical working certificate.
- Ability to complete Basic work on 3 phase and single phase electrical systems for general fault finding etc.
- General Fabrication skills and welding.
- Use of Computer for reports and logging jobs on Maintenance system.
Additional skills:
- Experience of working within a food industry.
- Familiar / trained with C.O.S.H procedures.
- Familiar / trained with I.O.S.H procedures.
- Familiar / trained with H.A.C.C.P procedures.
- Familiar / trained with Food Hygiene procedures.
- Forklift licence.
- Access Platform licence.
- Experience of working on Steam and Boiler systems.
- Experience of working on Pneumatic systems.
- Experience of working on Hydraulic systems.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team and possess the skills to work under pressure, prioritise workloads and be flexible with working hours
Good written and verbal communication skills are essential and the ideal candidate should be computer literate with Microsoft packages and endeavor to deliver the best quality service to internal and external customers alike.
In return they offer a competitive salary subject to skill set plus shift pay, if applicable to the role. The salary will be between £34,655.76 inclusive of shift pay and £36,860.96 inclusive of shift pay.
